At this point in time, I only have a children's book on the market. While this is not my actual intended genre, I had written the book for my own children. It is a story about my daughter's goats and an event that actually occurred here on our farm.
It was an easy write - the goats are fairly straight-forward characters and the story, as it was true, didn't require any plotting, planning, or re-thinking.
I was able to push it out before I really dug my heels in with my publishing company.
I am extremely eager to finish one of the pieces I've been working on that do fit into my preferred genre, though. I'm getting close. My paranormal short story collection (thus far untitled) is nearing completion. Then I'll be hopping back to my Dark Fantasy, my baby, RED. I'm really itching to complete her (yes, I said her).
I'm keen to wrap up the loose ends I have with the publishing company before the holiday season so that I can spend some of my own time on my own work. When the new year comes, I'll be diving back into European Geeks and Eleventh Hour full force, so I'm pretty excited to take some time while I can and really focus on my projects for a little while. Lord knows I've got an entire folder full of them!
I love being a children's book author, but I'm really looking forward to building a fan base of adult readers as well. I hope you'll be one of them! Keep an eye out for updates.
